April 30 – Whirlpool Aero Car

Whirlpool Aero Car

The Whirlpool Aero Car has thrilled visitors since 1916!  The steel car is suspended from six sturdy steel cables soaring 3,500 feet above the Niagara Gorge which is one of the world’s most mesmerizing natural phenomena.  The Aero Car travels along the cables high above to offer an exciting and unobstructed view of the Niagara River rapids and the whirling vortex of the Niagara Whirlpool. A geological wonder, the whirlpool is the awe-inspiring result of the immense volume of water barreling over the Horseshoe Falls being crushed into the narrow gorge to create the rapids, and where the rapids meet the gorge in an abrupt turn counterclockwise to create the vortex of churning water. This attraction delivers a view not for the faint of heart as you stare down into the eye of the whirlpool. Visitors will traverse the International border between Canada and the United States four times during the ride-no passport required!
