Tips To Build The Perfect Getaway

Studies have shown that anticipating a trip and that planning to get away is beneficial to mental health and happiness.  With recent travel surveys revealing that the demand for travel will exceed pre-pandemic levels and many hotels offering flexible policies, now is the time to book your trip. More than 60% of those surveyed had spent time in the last week planning and researching potential trips, with half of the respondents having spent up to 5 hours planning and some even booking multiple trips!

As the excitement to get out and see the sights grows, we wanted to share our tips for planning a vacation.

1. Be InspiredHornblower Niagara Cruises

A quick search in your favourite browser or on Instagram will lead to thousands of stunning photos of your potential destination which will keep you motivated, and will most likely lead to new adventures you hadn’t even considered. For example, a guestroom at a Niagara Falls Hotel with a view of the majestic Falls is a breathtaking way to start and end a day.

2. Keep It Fun

The research and budget process of planning can be overwhelming, so always keep your goal in mind – which is to create a thrilling adventure full of memories.  Budgeting is key, and to reduce stress keep your budget reasonable. Use all available research tools to ensure your plan covers what you hope to see and experience.  We suggest subscribing for email newsletters for hotels, attractions and restaurants so you are among the first to know about special offers, packages and discounts.

3. Be In The Know

Like or follow feeds for your prospective hosts, not only will promotions be posted, but you will also learn about special events and new and noteworthy items thanks to the immediacy of the channels. Is your favourite artist performing in Niagara Falls during your stay – perhaps; the city now offers two live entertainment venues, and concert announcements make for great posts!

4. Don’t Miss Your Chance

As the number of potential visitor’s increases, availability will decrease and you don’t want to miss your opportunity to get the room you have your eye on. Travel experts are recommending that you book in advance thanks to flexible policies most locations are offering.  You will find that hotels and attractions are offering flexible cancellation and deposit policies, so if you find a special rate for your location, review the policies and make your reservations.  Unless a deposit or full pre-payment is required, then credit card charges for your stay don’t hit your balance right away and if the cancellation policy is flexible then it’s a great incentive to book early.

We hope these travel tips will help inspire you as you research your next great adventure, and hope that your plans will include Niagara Falls!
