The walk is a flat path that’s suitable for all ages and abilities. You’ll take an elevator down to the base of Niagara Gorge before embarking. There is an entrance fee, of about $10.50USD/$14CAD for adults and $6.50USD/$9CAD for kids ages 6 to 12.

7. The Screaming Tunnel

If you’re into spooky things and other worlds, you should visit the Screaming Tunnel in Niagara Falls. This tunnel is off Warner Road in northwest Niagara Falls, near Perridiso Estate Winery between Garner Road and Queen Elizabeth Way.

Legend has it that a young girl burned to death in the tunnel. Some say she ran to it to escape a burning barn but didn’t survive. Other tales say her father set her on fire in the tunnel, while others claim she was set on fire after being assaulted. Her screams are said to be heard today, especially when you’re in the tunnel around midnight.

It’s also rumoured that if you go to the tunnel at night and light a match within the middle of it, the spirit of the girl may cause the flame to be extinguished. Go if you dare.

Cyran is a native of Poland and has been in Niagara Falls since 2004, when he displayed a Lego collection including 16 trains on 300 metres of tracks, as well as Lego replications of the Taj Mahal, the Empire State Building and the CN Tower.

What It’s Like to Visit the Upside Down House in Niagara Falls

The Upside Down House in Niagara Falls is a sight you won’t be able to miss. From the outside, you’ll see the bright red roof on the ground. Windows and their planters are upside-down. And the floor is exposed to the sky, while the front yard faces the ground. At night, house lights illuminate the house, from downside-up.

Walk in, and you’ll see beds, dressers, coffee tables, rug floors and plants on the ceiling. The bathtub, toilet and kids’ toys hover above you. Even the dining table and food on it are upside down.

The Upside Down House provides some pretty cool photo opportunities. Some people attempt handstands to look like they’re touching the ceiling with their hands. Others flip photos to give the appearance that the person in them is walking on the ceiling. And even regular photos inspire double-takes in this house unlike any other.

• The Upside Down House is a quick tour. Your family can be in and out of the Upside Down House in about 10 minutes. It’s a self-paced tour, so you can definitely linger and have a photo shoot until you get your perfect shot. Or, you can be in and out as quickly as you’d like.
• The experience can be disorienting. Some online reviewers report getting dizzy inside. If you’re under the influence, the effects can be especially disorienting. It can help to walk slowly and close your eyes and take a few deep breaths every few seconds to re-orient yourself.

History of Canada Day

In 1867, the British North America Act united the British provinces of New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario and Nova Scotia into the Dominion of Canada. The reasoning was to give British North America a stronger defense, after the United States ended the American Civil War in 1865. The constitution-makers in Canada also wanted to create a strong federal government to avoid something like the American Civil War.

Canada Day is not a typical day of independence like those from outside of Canada might think. But its history and spirit of unity continue to prevail when the holiday is celebrated today. Canada gained full governmental independence with the Canada Act of 1982, the same year that Canada Day was formed after formerly being celebrated as Dominion Day.
