Lailey Vineyard

The land where the vineyard now stands has been growing grapes since 1970, when the 20 acre farm was converted into a vineyard. Vitis Vinifera and French hybrids were planted here for the production of quality wines at Niagara Wineries. In 2003 the vineyard expanded by adding an extra 3 acres of land to plant Pinot Noit, Petit Verdot, Semillon and Malbec. In the same year, Lailey Vineyard stopped using herbicides and moved to mechanical and manual maintenance. The Lailey Vineyard increased the length of the growing season by installing fans in 2004. These Fans also protect the vines from the harsh winter season.
