Fort George Niagara Falls

Fort George is a nationally historic site in Canada, that is operated by Parks Canada. Located in Niagara on the Lake, Fort George was the headquarters of the British Army during the war of 1812 under the leadership of Major General Sir General Isaac Brock. The fort was taken over and burned to the ground by the invading Americans in 1813 before being reclaimed by the British seven months later. Now Fort George is a major tourist attractions for visitors to the Niagara Region and in particular Niagara On The Lake, the summer months see the largest crowds with special presentations and displays.

Fort George was a substantial installation, boasting six earthen and log bastions linked by a wooden palisade and surrounded by a dry ditch.
