Nik Wallenda pauses when asked if he’d be where he is today, two weeks from walking across the Grand Canyon on a wire, if it wasn’t for Niagara Falls.
“I don’t think so, no,” says the tightrope walker most known for walking across the falls on a two-inch wide rope one year ago Saturday. “(That walk) raised public awareness for me. Every aspect of it: my family’s history, turmoil and the political aspect of that walk. It was all a huge help.”
