Niagara Falls Santa Claus Parade is almost here! On Saturday November 16th, join in on the Christmas festivities with family and friends. Starting at 11 am, superb floats and spirited characters will cover Victoria Avenue with singing, dancing and masses of fun!
Other than the parade, there are many exciting events happening that weekend in Niagara Falls. The day before the parade, on the 15th, the Arts and Culture Committee will be hosting an Art Show at the Niagara Falls Public Library. Artists 12 and under, 13-18 and 19 and older are encouraged to enter a piece into one of three categories: Fine Art (painting, drawing, photography& computer generated art), Carving/Sculpture/Media, or Green/Eco/Recycled/Found Art. Drop off is between 3-9 pm on the 15th and pick up is between 2:30-5 pm on the 16th. Prior to pick up, there will be an awards show held at 2 pm where prizes will be given out to all 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner in each age group for every category.
At 9:30, the Winter Festival of Lights presents the CYTEC Candy Cane 5k /fun run& walk. Participants will dress up in their Christmas gear and race to the finish line, using the parade route for the final 1.3 km of the run. Be there early to cheer the competitors on!
At 10:40, the pre-parade show will begin; so make sure you grab a spot early to enjoy it! After the parade, there will be a meet and greet with Santa at City Hall (where the parade ends).
Wear your hats, scarves, gloves and coats because winter weather has arrived !
