Niagara Falls Comic Con draws big crowds

It was a busy weekend in Niagara Falls, with over 5000 riders coming into the city by bike from Toronto for the annual Ride to Conquer Cancer, another estimated 15,000 people attended Niagara Falls Comic Con at the Scotiabank Convention Centre. Niagara Falls is the place to be.

The actor, best known for his lead role in Flash Gordon in 1980, has seen a resurgence in popularity since his cameo in the 2012 film Ted about a foul-mouthed teddy bear.

“Ted resurrected all my fans, all the ones that were sleeping,” he joked.

“I have people who saw me in Flash and they’re bringing their kids who enjoyed Ted. I have a new generation of fans by the way of Ted.”

An estimated 15,000 people attended the two-day event, said event manager Chris Dabrowski.
