Old Fort Erie Niagara Falls

Old Fort Erie is a historical tourist attraction located in Fort Erie Ontario. The Fort was built in 1764 by the British during the Pontiac rebellion and became the site of the bloodiest battle of the war of 1812 between the British and the Americans. The fort is strategically located at the mouth of the Niagara River & Lake Erie converge and was the only stone fort constructed by the British. Special events are planned throughout the summer including historical reenactments for guests to watch and participate in.

Overview

Old Fort Erie was home to where the most men fought on Canadian soil. On August 14th and September 27th, 1814 two major battles saw 2094 casualties.

Dates of Operation:  Open seasonally, approximately May 6 to October 7.Hours of Operation:   All times subject to change.

Last ticket sold 30 minutes before closing times shown.

Extended hours may apply during Special events.
