Niagara Falls YouDiscover Concert Series

(Niagara Falls, Ontario, June 2009) – Inspired by American Idol the YouDiscover concert series in Niagara Falls this summer invites fans to choose their favourite band!

The Falls Avenue Entertainment Complex contains the best Niagara Falls hotels, indoor waterpark and entertainment complex in North America located directly across form the Falls. Falls Avenue and the Hard Rock Cafe is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the Niagara Parks, Molson, the Maid of the Mist and others to sponsor YouDiscover!

YouDiscover is a talent search similar in style to battle of the bands and the popular American Idol, the contest runs from July 8 through to August 21st with the grand finale on August 28; all shows begin at 8:00pm. Bands from across Canada and New York State applied online to be one of the 28 independent bands to perform in front of a live audience of fans in Oakes Garden Theatre. Oakes Garden Theatre was built in 1936 in an amphitheatre style the Oakes Garden Theatre has the ability to house performances of all kinds; the large lawn area with the backdrop of the Falls creates the perfect outdoor venue. Each competition concert will end with a free fireworks display over Niagara Falls.

Fans are asked to vote for each performance by text messaging, voting in person at the concert or online where the performance will be recorded and broadcast. After August 21st all votes will be counted and the four top bands will be asked to perform again on August 28 in front of a panel of celebrity judges for the grand prize of a recording contract with Orange Lounge Recordings. The winning band will also receive a recording contract, complete band makeover, and will be the opening act on the nationally broadcast New Years Eve Celebration in Niagara Falls.

The Falls Avenue Entertainment Complex is home of four superior Niagara Falls hotels including the Sheraton on the Falls, Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls, Skyline Inn and the Hampton Inn by Hilton at the Falls, these hotels allow guests to stay directly across from the concert. Individual concert tickets are also available, shows from July 8-August 21 are $8.00 and tickets for the grand finale show on August 28 are $15.00 per person.
